- Field trip to see the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for 4th grade

- 3 primary classrooms (Carlson, Rupp, Sittner) received a 6 week
artist residency through Urban Gateways
- Kindergarten, 1st and 2ND grade classrooms attended world music
concert @Old Town School of Folk Music
- Purchase of percussion instruments for the Music Department in
preparation for World Music curriculum, plus primary grades 1-3
workshop classes with guest musician

- Secured grant which enabled Ms. Christiansen’s class to attend a

Art Accomplishments for the 2006-2007
School Year
- 14 classrooms received 5-session artist in residency programs
for our classical and special needs students in grades K-8; covering puppet and mask-making, dance and visual art.
- Two classrooms attend an African
Ballet, Amazones
- Our entire school attended Voces Latinas, Spain’s Dancing Rhythms,
in our auditorium
- Two classroms visited the Mexican National Museum's Dia de los
Muertas exhibit
- Kiddo Publishing sent children’s positive message Hip-Hop group
The Figureheads to perform for the entire school, and approximately
30 students performed with the group at the local Fulton Arts Walk
- A.R.T. residency program provided four primary
classrooms with self-portrait instruction

- Luna Negra Dance Company
- 7 session Visual Artist in Residency with artist Nicole Beck for
kindergarten rooms and second graders.
- 7 session Literary/Theater arts residency with artist Maia Morgan
- 7 session Mask-making artist in residency with artist Judy Petaque
- 7 session Batik artist in residency program with artist Alpha Bruton
- Fourteen week after school video club for upper grade students who
applied and were accepted into the program. Class was facilitated by
Bryan Dinello. The class was culminated with a trip to CAN-TV
- Images of Africa Touring performance at Skinner for all students
grades 3-8
- American Songbag Touring performance at Skinner for all students
grades K-4.
- First Annual No Art Left Behind Fundraiser
